Advanced technology for car parks

Parkeon, leading provider of parking space management solutions, has recently demonstrated the latest version of the company’s pay and display (P&D) systems architecture on its Strada Rapide terminal.

The new electronic hardware and software reduce the machine’s battery power consumption, increasing the automony of the solar powered version.

This is an important consideration as P&D terminals are required to support an increasingly complex range of functions, including on-line credit card payments and full centralisation. Parkeon has unique and proven know-how in the development and implementation of solar-p owered terminals. Enhanced ticket printing capabilities are one benefit of the new operating system. They enable the terminal to output sophisticated text, logos and icons. This transforms the tickets into an attractive advertising medium, which can generate addtional revenue for parking operators. Alternatively, tickets can be used to provide drivers with better information, while improving branding for the operator.

The new systems architecture also facilitates a larger graphics screen that can now display text, logos and icons, making tariffs and operating instructions easier to see and understand for drivers.

A new feature on Parkeon’s Varioflex automatic pay stations is a lost ticket facility that enables parking attendents to issue drivers with replacement tickets by remote control. This is more convenient for car park personnel and helps prevent hold-ups at car park exits.
