IHEEM is seeking candidates to contribute to its Resilience and Sustainability Advisory Group. The aim of the Group is to provide information and guidance for members, and to advise on matters of special interest as they arise.
The Group will also promote and support technical papers, which can be printed in HEJ. IHEEM’s Technical Platforms (TPs) and Advisory Groups (AGs) also provide comment on HTMs, HBNs, CFPPs, and other Department of Health and Devolved Authority guidance, take part in BSI Committees and All-Party Parliamentary discussion groups, and advise the Institute’s Council. Each TP and AG communicates electronically via telephone conference calling and the internet to share ideas, comment on articles, and contribute information. The Institute now has 10 Technical Platforms and Advisory Groups, all governed by the Technology Platform Committee, covering the following disciplines:
Technical Platforms
• Decontamination
• Electrical
• Medical Gases
• Ventilation
• Water
• International Committee
Advisory Groups
• Architecture and design of the built environment
• Medical devices
• Specialist Engineering
• Resilience and Sustainability
IHEEM administration officer, Matthew Barker, said: “We hope the TPs and AGs will give healthcare engineers an opportunity to give advice and guidance on topics that they feel are important, as well as setting up a network through which expertise can be gathered. If you have any questions you would like answered, or wish to participate in a discussion group, please contact us. Similarly, if you have in-depth knowledge of resilience and sustainability in this context, please get in touch.” T: 023 9282 3186; Email: Matthewbarker@iheem.org.uk For more information on the Technology Platforms and Advisory Groups, visit: www.iheem.org.uk/ Technical-Platforms
