ECEX has launched a new range of air intake screens designed for all types of HVAC equipment and cooling tower applications. It says protecting air intake equipment can reduce preventative plant maintenance by up to 70 per cent, and prolong the life of HVAC internal air filters by up to 60 per cent.
“Protecting air intake systems helps reduce energy and maintenance costs,” explained MD, Richard Betts. “Airborne debris particles drawn into HVAC equipment can cause filters to clog up and increase airflow resistance. Over time, machinery becomes less efficient, and may fail.” The ‘eco-friendly’ air intake screens are reportedly particularly effective for preventing bacterial growth, ‘often found in water-cooling towers’, by preventing ingress of external nutrient sources. Richard Betts said: “This not only helps reduce the risk of outbreak of diseases such as Legionnaires’ disease, but also increases cooling tower efficiency.”
