Manufacturer and supplier of medical gas equipment, MEC Medical, has introduced a new refurbishment service for hoses and connectors.
Existing hose assemblies or, if more convenient, the probe only, are sent to MEC attached to 150 mm of hose. Upon receipt, MEC inspects the condition and tolerances of the existing connectors. The assembly is then re-worked with a new BS EN ISO 5359 (2008) gas hose, plus a new traceable ID shrink sleeve and ‘O ring’ for NIST probe/test. MEC can also customise hoses, and check for any defects before commencing work, with out-of-tolerance probes or NISTS replaced after consultation. Hoses and assemblies can be tailored to any configuration required, while a full range of connectors can be supplied. All hoses and assemblies are CE marked, and carry a full warranty, backed by comprehensive spares. The assemblies are built using high quality stainless steel probes, with connectors attached using bespoke high pressure equipment, after which thorough leak testing is undertaken. The end product is fully tested and compliant to BS 5682:1998 and BS EN ISO 5359:2008, and has MRI compatibility, with the product part numbered, lot numbered, and date stamped, for full traceability.
