Dalkia, which claims to save 7.5 million tonnes of CO2 for customers annually, will show ‘the latest solutions for reducing carbon emissions from hospitals’.
By implementing site-wide carbon management strategies, it says significant cost and carbon reductions can be achieved using ‘proven energy-efficient technology’, and best practice optimisation techniques. In conjunction with energy awareness campaigns, Dalkia says this can help hospitals achieve ‘sustainable carbon reductions’, with the cost savings redirected towards healthcare. The company, which already serves over 100 NHS hospitals and 6,000 healthcare facilities across 38 countries, is now delivering projects through the Carbon and Energy Fund framework. Dalkia said: “Our extensive resources enable Trusts to focus resources on patient care, and benefit from new energy plant and technology to enhance environmental performance.” For hospitals specifying, or keen to install, combined heat and power plant, Dalkia’s specialist CHP subsidiary, Cogenco, has a dedicated UK assembly plant offering full technical support and ‘24/7’ monitoring.
