All the bases covered

When considering patient entertainment and information, Airwave Healthcare says it ‘has all the bases covered’, both to improve the patient experience, and to ‘deliver the vision’ of both Trusts and local hospitals.

The company said: “Any hospital visit can be stressful. Today’s converging technologies allow hospitals to easily provide an audio-visual experience to reduce anxiety and relax the patient via an easy-to-use (ideally free-of-charge) patient entertainment system.”

With an extensive range of televisions and touchscreens, and a wide portfolio of standard and bespoke mounting options, Airwave says it is well-equipped to help any hospital implement and commission a patient entertainment and ‘infotainment solution’ that ‘enhances communication, entertainment, and clinical tools, at the bedside’.

Hardware products include healthcare-specific white televisions, coupled with infection control wipe-down remote controls and multiple arm fixing designs for easy implementation in and around additional bedside equipment. Mounting arms can be of various lengths to suit individual bed area designs, for example to accommodate bed bumpers, and still ensure ‘a positive patient viewing and interaction experience’. Arms are available in wall or ceiling mount choices. Additional designs available include bespoke monitors, televisions, and touchscreens on carts and trolleys.

Airwave said: “Our White Healthcare televisions – available in 22 and 26 inch sizes, bring the best in patient viewing experience. Easy installation, menu, and volume locking, allow groups of televisions to be managed easily from a central location. The Theme TV light option provide a simple-to-use user interface that enables patients to navigate the on-screen menu to find features such as hospital information and international channels.”

Airwave also provides the latest Samsung and LG digital signage solutions. Described as a ‘cost-effective, eye-catching way to engage visitors with crystal-clear entertainment and information’, LG’s EzSign solution will be shown on the company’s stand (Number 40) at HefmA. It is said to be ‘fast and easy to edit’, and requires no media player or additional hardware. Airwave said: “Simply apply images and text from pre-installed content templates, save the information onto a USB drive, and plug it into your EzSign screen.”

Additionally, Airwave’s hospital information channels, AirCAST and AirINFO, also communicate important information to patients. AirCAST uses the familiar ‘red-button’ system, allowing patients to quickly and easily navigate through different sections of hospital information. The hospital can instantly update the system via a simple web interface.
