Over 25 international articles have been received for the 2014 IFHE Digest, after a call for article synopses was made in the last (May 2013) ‘IFHE’ edition of Health Estate Journal, writes Andy Wavell, IHEEM’s IFHE representative, and the Digest’s commissioning editor.
All have now been ‘vetted’ by the editorial panel, and the authors of the articles selected for publication asked to provide the completed version so that the editor can finalise the Digest for 2014. Andy Wavell added, however: “From information received, far fewer members of the IFHE family than expected have so far accessed the 2013 Digest, despite reminders of how to access it via the Internet being circulated to member countries, and the ‘web link’ http://content.yudu.com/A20ai8/IFHEdigest13/ being published on the IFHE website. Of considerable interest, however, are the ‘hits’ from countries not currently members of IFHE. These will be followed up as potential new members for the organisation. “The IFHE Digest publication is produced for you all, and is sourced from members who produce articles based on their own experience and expertise in healthcare engineering and facilities management, in the hope readers will discover something new that can be used to their advantage in their own environment. “Your experiences, as healthcare estates and engineering professionals, are of interest to engineers, architects, and facilities managers, so why not share them? In early 2014 we will be seeking articles for the 2015 edition, and I would be pleased to receive them.” For more information, email: a.wavell@tiscali.co.uk
