A range of single-use water filters that includes cartridges, shower heads, and spouts, will be shown by specialist in sanitary equipment, Delabie. Each Biofil filter has a hollow fibre membrane with a filtration threshold of 0.1 micron, absolute rated, ‘delivering microorganism-free water without changing the water’s chemical composition’.
Delabie says the filters ‘provide immediate protection’ against waterborne nosocomial infections, such as Legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The company said: “The filtration surface is twice as large as on filters that incorporate a folded membrane, with the risk of clogging reduced. Biofil filters for Legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa have a maximum lifespan of 62 days, will withstand thermal and chemical shock treatment, and are easily installable without tools.” Two filter types are available:
• Sterile filters ‘for all germs’ (CE medical device class IIb).
• Filters for Legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
