Alarm Radio Monitoring (ARM) claims to be the UK's premier wireless nurse call and staff alarm system manufacturer, supplier, and installer.
With over 30 years’ experience in designing and manufacturing wireless systems, the company says it can utilise its expertise to provide customers with the system and service they require. It adds: “Wireless systems allow for a quick, no-fuss installation. Minimal disruption to both staff and end-users means we can have your system installed, configured, and running quickly, without the need to close an entire ward down. Now, with our new fully compliant HTM 08-03 wireless nurse call system – designed specifically to meet the requirements of the Health Technical Memorandum, and incorporating antimicrobial protection – wireless nurse call systems can be confidently deployed into hospitals.”
ARM says that, traditionally, the failure of an existing hard-wired nurse call system has meant ‘lengthy delays and expensive closures of wards while replacement cables are run’. However, with its new HTM 08-03 compliant wireless nurse call system, it says a new / replacement system ‘can be easily installed, with the minimum of disruption and cost’.
The company adds: “Call-points with anti-microbial additives are available to suit any environment, and are designed to meet the standards required by the Department of Health.”
The patient handset is sealed to IP67 for easy cleaning – either by using alcohol wipes, or dipping in a disinfectant solution – to reduce cross-infection risks between patients. The handset is equipped with both a ‘call reassurance’ LED, and a backlight, which automatically illuminates during low light levels to ensure that patients can always locate it in the dark. Another handset variant comes with an integral light switch to operate the bed light, with the additional option for the call point to be powered from the mains supply if required.
The company said: “The ARM retrofit back plates with optional bedside light integration mean swapping out an old hard-wired system is now even easier. Operation of the bedside light also enables the call point to be powered by the light source with battery back-up.”
