The Institute, following a recent review of Membership categories, is embarking upon a programme to introduce some new categories.
The first of these is ‘Skilled Person Affiliate’, an addition to the range of affiliate grades providing benefits of membership to members who would not normally have considered IHEEM membership to be for them. Skilled Person Affiliate is an entry-level membership designed to attract trades personnel and others working within the sector, who currently are insufficiently experienced, or have qualifications below the minimum required. for IHEEM membership. Chris Parker, IHEEM recruitment and membership manager, says: “This category provides an introduction to the benefits of full Institution membership. IHEEM has ambitious plans for growth, and this new product, which is the first of a suite to be launched over the next few months, is designed to be attractive to potential members who have not considered membership before, and who IHEEM have not actively sought to include. “It is competitively priced, at less than £5 per month if paying by monthly direct debit, and most membership benefits are available, including receipt of Health Estate Journal, and all the technical content this contains. I would encourage all members, and particularly those working in the public sector, to recommend Skilled Person Affiliate Membership to their team members.” There is an expectation that full membership would be granted in due course as the member’s career develops.
