Interrupting a ‘wasteful cycle’

Enersol Flomar, established 30 years ago to provide bespoke services in steam production, has developed a range of advanced boiler controls ‘to respond to the demands of ever-increasing fuel costs, and the need to reduce harmful emissions’.

Today, the company says, its boiler controls – the Savastat range – are delivering ‘substantial savings in emissions and fuel costs’. The company explained: “The returning water from boilers distributed around a building is often still hot, and requires little, or no, further re-heating. Traditionally, however, the boiler will still fire, thus using expensive energy unnecessarily. Savastat systems – entirely compatible with existing controls and building management systems – interrupt this wasteful cycle, by allowing the boiler to fire only when further heating is needed. The controls are in constant use in locations as diverse as the University of St. Andrews, UK law courts, and NHS hospitals.”
