Bender UK says it ‘scored a huge hit’ at the Healthcare Estates 2013 conference and exhibition, with delegates and visitors crowding onto its stand to learn more about ATICS - the power changeover solution designed to the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Level 2 standard (BS EN61508).
The ATICS changeover solution from Bender UK is ‘purpose-designed for medical applications’. Bender says patient safety was ‘at the very core of its conception and development’.
Central to the ATICS design is the incorporation of permanent self- testing across all critical components, ‘bringing increased peace of mind over other products that may be susceptible to failure without prior warning’.
Bender UK managing director, Steve Mason, was delighted with the level of interest in the system. He explains: “Medical facilities are increasingly using parallel power sources as back- up or redundancy solutions to remove the single-point-of-failure threat to power resilience inherent in the traditional single supply cable. Despite this approach, however, many installations still contain local supply loss risks (LSLRs) that can be eliminated by implementing ATICS technology. ATICS has independent (TÜV SÜD) certification to the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Level 2 standard.
