Daikin Airconditioning has won one of Britain’s first Green Hero awards for environmental best practice.
The award, created by independent international environment group the Green Organisation, recognises the company’s efforts to encourage environmental thinking among its health sector customers. It also recognises Daikin’s use of ozonefriendly refrigerants in its units, and its focus on eco-design and “green content” product development. For example, Daikin units feature an energy usage monitor, providing customers with reduced running cost information. The award, which is made annually to companies and councils who have already won a Green Apple award, was presented earlier this year by botanist David Bellamy.
Daikin Airconditioning managing director David MacQueen said: “It is hoped that through our environmental achievements others may benefit and begin to understand how they can help the planet.”
