Design services for centres provided by WYG

As part of its appointment for St Helens LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust), the Manchester office of White Young Green (WYG), consultants to the built, natural and social environment, has been providing design services on a variety of schemes throughout the north west of England.

Appointed by Morrisons Construction, WYG has been working on numerous healthcare centres, which form part of a rolling £125 million programme to deliver 40 plus healthcare centres encompassing the St Helens, Knowsley, Warrington and Halton areas. WYG’s role includes the provision of structural designs for economic framing, foundations and drainage solutions as well as drawing on the expertise of its environmental division to carry out ground investigations.

WYG has completed work on the recently handed over £5 million Tower Hill Primary Care Resource Centre in Knowsley and £7 million Widnes Health Care Resource Centre in Halton. Both projects will provide a range of primary healthcare services from a purpose-built facility.

Jim Seager, associate director for WYG’s Manchester office said: “We are delighted to be part of such a large project that will have a profound effect on the north west and one in which the local community has played such an integral part”.
