‘Auto-start’ prevents blocking

A new software upgrade to Vernacare’s Vortex pulp disposal unit, available on all new and existing machines, includes an enhanced fault code update for easier diagnosis, and a new optional auto-start feature.

All production machines are now factory programmed with the V4.5 software, which allows them to be autostart enabled at the point-of-installation. Machines already installed can be upgraded by an engineer, simply by reloading the software via program fobs, available directly from Vernacare. “When enabled, the machine will automatically commence a cycle each time the lid is closed, without the need to press the start button,” explained Graham Pearce, international service manager. “This will help prevent overloading, and minimise the risk of associated blockages.” Vernacare added: “The auto-start feature helps keep drains clear by reducing the pulp-to-water ratio, and aids flow through the drains. By removing repeated contact with the start button, and preventing multiple pulp items ‘stacking up’, crosscontamination risk is minimised.”
