Panel Systems, a laminated panel supplier, has released a new brochure for its Styroclad eco – an ‘extremely lightweight and environmentallyfriendly’, weather-resistant panel designed to insulate an upstand or parapet in roofing applications, helping to reduce cold bridging.
The panel comprises 6 mm autoclaved fibre-cement board combined with high performance Styrofoam insulation. It offers ‘excellent impact resistance’, and is designed to withstand extreme climatic conditions.
Styroclad eco is produced from the ‘technically advanced’ Styrofoam LBA that uses recycled carbon dioxide as the blowing agent, making it suitable for applications requiring an enhanced BREEAM rating. It also has an ODP of Zero, and a GWP of one.
The facing board is Class ‘0’ to Building Regulations, and has Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS 476 Part 7. Available in board sizes of 1,200 mm x 600 mm, the panel comes with a smooth grey surface, and requires no further finishing, but can be painted using an alkali-resistant paint or emulsion.
