Acoustic ceiling with lighting

Saint-Gobain Ecophon’s Soundlight Comfort range – ‘the latest innovation in noise and lighting solutions’ – is the result of a close partnership between acoustic ceiling manufacturer, Ecophon, and ‘expert’ in LED lighting, Philips.

As part of a large-scale refurbishment, the Saint- Gobain Head Office in Binley, Coventry, is the UK’s first building to feature the Soundlight Comfort Ceiling ‘solution’.

Following the launch of the first product – a free-hanging acoustic panel with inbuilt LED lighting – the Soundlight Comfort solution ‘takes the partnership to a new level’ – a fully integrated ceiling system designed ‘to keep noise and lighting levels at an optimum level for personal comfort’.

The Soundlight Comfort Ceiling was designed ‘to create the sound absorption needed to reduce the total distance sound travels, and ensure speech clarity over short distances’, with a ‘class A’ acoustic performance. Installed as a suspended ceiling using Ecophon Connect grid as support, it features a combination of LED tiles and 40 mm acoustic tiles. The LED tiles are designed both to contain lighting elements, and to provide acoustic absorption, with a 15 mm absorber an integral part of the LED unit.
