Kingsley Green Hospital near Radlett in Hertfordshire, a new adult acute mental healthcare inpatient unit, part of which has already opened, has selected Morley-IAS control panels as part of a sophisticated fire safety system.
Part of a £42 million investment by Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, the new development, formerly known as Harperbury Hospital, extends the existing psychiatric and care facilities on the site.
It will include 70 adult mental health beds for those with functional mental illness and frail functional adults, split into four wards, and a 16-bed adult learning disability ward. The site will also include a cafeteria and shop, guest suite, and sports and activities area.
The Morley-IAS system provides ‘superior software functionality designed to control the rapid, safe evacuation of disabled patients in the event of a fire-related incident’. It will comprise four networked Morley ZX5Se control panels and repeater panels, with 13 detection loops, and up to 1,000 addressable devices, to provide comprehensive protection for the sizeable site.
The system was designed, and is being installed, by Morley-IAS distribution partner M&G Fire, working with main electrical contractor, W Portsmouth.
