Sentinel Commercial says water softeners commonly used in hard water areas to protect building services systems from limescale ‘can waste considerable water, and require a regular and costly supply of salt’.
In response, the company offers KalGUARD, a device ‘scientifically proven to prevent limescale formation without wasting water’.
“KalGUARD delivers very low levels of stable zinc into the water to change hard, deposit-forming calcium carbonate crystals into soft, non-deposit-forming aragonite,” the company explains. “The device can be installed on a rising main, before the water storage tanks and booster sets, to provide whole system protection. The technology is Building Regulations Part L-approved.”
KalGUARD does not require regeneration or salt – ‘offering significant savings in time, water, and money’, and can offer return-on-investment ‘in under 12 months’.
