ENER-G, an approved contractor to the Carbon and Energy Fund, which has delivered more than 50 CHP-led energy services contracts within healthcare – including the award-winning energy centre at Birmingham Heartlands (pictured) – will demonstrate its combined heat and power (CHP) and energy management expertise.
Tony McDermott, who leads the company’s specialist healthcare division, will present a paper entitled ‘Infrastructure considerations for energy- saving projects’. He said: “The benefits of CHP in hospitals can be enhanced in combination with energy efficiency measures. We have identified the most affordable, effective methods as high efficiency lighting, boiler improvements, insulation, and improved control systems.”
ENER-G claims to be ‘Europe’s leading supplier of small-scale CHP systems’. Its projects range ‘from simple packaged generators that complement existing boiler plant’, to complex boiler house/ energy centres with trigeneration (chilling) capability.
