Johnstone’s Trade’s Hygiene Defence decorative paint range, which it will show in Manchester, was developed “to help prevent the spread of harmful bacteria that can lead to E. coli and ‘superbugs’ such as MRSA”.
Within this range are Johnstone’s Microbarr Anti-bacterial paints – water- based formulations that use silver ion technology, providing hygiene protection for HTM 56 Categories 1 to 3. The company said: “Tested to the Japanese JIS Z 2801 test method, Microbarr coatings can be relied upon to protect surfaces, and have been used in numerous healthcare facilities, including at Bristol’s new Southmead Hospital. Our specification advice will provide customers with the confidence to select decorative hygiene solutions that will afford the correct level of cleanliness for different environments, while harnessing the ‘best’ colour to create environments where patients can successfully recuperate.”
