Bristan has launched a new shower designed to aid commercial users in the complex task of ensuring optimum water temperature and infection control.
Said to be ‘ideally suited to the healthcare sector’, the Opac bar shower features inbuilt TMV3 control, plus and an automatic thermostatic shut-off in the event of hot or cold water supply failure. The key feature, however, Bristan explains, is ‘a simple isolation and hot flush mechanism whereby maintenance personnel need only turn the two valves on the rear of the shower body to access inside – thus eliminating the need for additional flushing equipment’. The company said: “This will come as a huge benefit to public sector environments obligated to conduct regular hot water flushes to ensure that the supply and flow points remain uncontaminated. A typical hot water flush can take anywhere up to an hour with a traditional shower set-up, whereas with the Opac the process can be completed in just 10 minutes.”
The shower features separate controls for timer and flow with lever handles, ‘making it incredibly easy to operate – a key consideration for children’, and is fully ‘cool touch’, so ‘never gets hotter
