Manufacturer of standalone access control products, Codelocks, now offers fire kit packs – available to order online immediately – for its mechanical and electronic latch locks that, when fitted, enable the locks to be installed on 30- or 60-minute fire- rated doors.
The fire kit pack contains shaped pads of intumescent strips that can be used on new or existing lock installations. “We’ve been getting more and more enquiries from customers wanting fire- resistant door hardware, and, as a result, we’ve introduced this quick and easy solution,” explained Codelocks product manager, Dominic Ryan.
The intumescent strips are reportedly easy to fit – ‘adding only a few minutes to the installation time for new locks, and approximately 30 minutes for existing lock installations’. The product has been tested in accordance with BSEN1634-1:2008.
