Specialist practice restructures

Anshen Dyer, the Anglo-American practice specialising in healthcare and educational architectural work, is in the process of changing its structure.

Founded 20 years ago as a joint venture between US practice Anshen + Allen and UK practice Dyer, Londonbased Anshen Dyer has expanded beyond the scope of operation originally envisaged. Both parent companies and the board of directors have agreed that structural changes are required to reflect the growth of the marketplace and their future ambitions.

When negotiations are complete Anshen Dyer will become part of the Anshen + Allen group and will then be known as Anshen + Allen. The group, which states that is the largest architectural practice in the world devoted exclusively to its specialist sectors, will continue to focus on health, research and education facilities worldwide. Dyer, who played a significant role in the development and management of Anshen Dyer, will now focus the energies of its senior leadership on growing its international portfolio across all sectors.

Felicia Cleper-Borkovi, director of Anshen Dyer and president of Anshen + Allen, commented: “Having worked closely and well together for the past two decades, we are keen to develop the maximum potential of our individual practices.” John Cooper, director in charge of healthcare at Anshen Dyer stated: “Restructuring in this way will mean that we can offer our staff greater opportunities and our clients greater flexibility in achieving their goals worldwide.”

Dale Sinclair, director of Dyer, who was seconded as managing director of Anshen Dyer said: “Working jointly in practices has allowed this partnership to become the UK market leader in healthcare design services. Once under independent direction we will have the freedom to pursue our unique vision of healthcare and education reform in the UK and abroad.”

Derek Parker one of the original cofounders of Anshen Dyer remains chairman of Anshen + Allen’s UK operations. Directors John Cooper, David Martin, Jane McElroy and Felicia Cleper- Borkovi continue to lead the design and project management of the practice. Kieran Breen replaces Dale Sinclair as managing director in London.
