Working with key stakeholders from the Trust, and the interior design team at Gilling Dod Architects, Teal has equipped the new Sid Watkins Building, part of the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, with ‘innovative and bold’ furniture to create ‘an exciting first impression wow factor’.
Delivered under ProCure21+ by Interserve Construction, the building provides specialised inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient care, education and training facilities, office space, and relatives’ overnight accommodation.
Teal said: “The furniture creates a bright, contemporary, non-clinical feel, and coordinates with the bold palette created as part of the interior design strategy.”
Ground floor atrium entrance areas feature ‘Virtuoso’ high and low-back chairs, with dual tone fabrics and button back styling. Public waiting and sitting areas incorporate ‘Christie’ chairs and matching two-seaters, soft edge tables, and ‘Donnington’ circular seating, in fabrics that coordinate with the colours and artworks within the building.
Patient bedrooms house the ‘Buddy’ day bed, ‘ideal for family sleepovers’, while pain management areas, patient bedrooms, and ndependent living apartments, also incorporate the ‘Velvare’ ergonomic patient recovery chair, with pressure management seat and stylish walnut legs. ‘Adeo’ visitor chairs feature in patient bedrooms, while pain management areas incorporate ‘Apollo’ high-back patient chairs and bariatric models.
