Global FM – an association for facilities management member organisations worldwide – has announced 10 June 2015 as the date for the 7th annual World FM Day – ‘a day of worldwide celebration of facilities management, where FM professionals, teams, companies, and representative bodies, highlight the important role of FM’.
The focus for 2015 is ‘Building Resilience for the Future’.
Global FM chairman, Duncan Waddell, a founder of the Facility Management Association of Australia, said: “Around the world we face challenges ranging from political upheaval, energy crises, and extreme weather, to challenging economic conditions – and it is great facilities management that can help us get through these challenging situations, and mitigate the risk to businesses and the public.
“This year’s theme will help reinforce and remind the business community, governments, and the general public that FM professionals play a key role in building resilience. We plan to demonstrate this through a series of events in our member countries.”
Under the ‘Building Resilience for the Future’ theme, World FM Day 2015 events will cover aspects including:
• Risk and Business Continuity.
• Sustainability.
• Energy Management.
June 10 will see Global FM corporate supporter, NJW, host a free-to-attend one-day conference at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bishopsgate, London, focusing on Workplace Continuity. For more information, and to register, visit: http://tinyurl.com/kubgzb4
