A new Design and Innovation Centre at Static Systems’ Staffordshire headquarters incorporates a multi-bed bay – a ‘live example’ of the ProCure21+ repeatable room design.
The opening of Static Systems Group’s new Design and Innovation Centre (D&IC) at the company’s Wombourne, Staffordshire head office near Wolverhampton has several key strategic objectives for the company, but at its core is a multi-bed bay – a live example of the ProCure21+ (P21+) repeatable room design. The four-bed bay replicates an example of one of the designs resulting from the Government-led cost reduction strategy which aims, through standard and repeatable designs, to deliver cost savings, and improve efficiency and patient outcomes, while still encouraging innovation. Static Systems director of marketing, Phil Wade, describes the rationale behind the new facility.
Considerable interest is being generated by the new facility, particularly among the parties involved. The concept of ‘repeatable rooms’ has already resulted in many requests to visit the centre to experience exactly how a four-bed bay will function in all aspects of a busy ward. The repeatable room, however, is just one component of a considerable investment that Static Systems is making in a centre that will also serve to enhance training, innovation, design, new concepts, and much more.
