‘Mock-up’ repeatable room sees first visitors

An ‘eclectic mix’ of 45 professionals were recently among the first visitors to Static Systems’ new Design & Innovation Centre (D&IC), which includes a full scale ‘mock-up’ of the ProCure21+ repeatable rooms Four-Bed Multi-Bed Bay design (HEJ – October 2015).

The guests – who have all been involved in the ongoing development of the P21+ repeatable rooms initiative – included representatives from the Department of Health, the six P21+Principal Supply Chain Partners – Balfour Beatty, Galliford Try, IHP, Interserve, Kier, and Willmott Dixon, and from some of the specialist component and service suppliers who had supported the facility’s construction.

Static Systems marketing director, Phil Wade, said: “The event attracted a great response, and we received excellent feedback; our guests found the ward and discussions very useful.”

The visit was organised ahead of Healthcare Estates 2015, where Static Systems gave an update on the facility during the conference.  The Design and Innovation Centre, at the company’s headquarters near Wolverhampton, has already been shown to overseas visitors from Malta, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. A PSCP Champions’ Day, and a seminar for a leading architectural and project management practice, have also been hosted, while a number of Trusts are looking to use the facility.
