Reportedly ideally suited to a range of applications in healthcare buildings, Sika’s ‘seamless’ ComfortFloor range of resin flooring is said to offer ‘true quality, durability, and versatility’ as an ‘attractive alternative’ to traditional vinyl flooring, carpet, or timber.
An easily applied, high performance liquid, the system is available in a wide range of colours, can be easily cleaned and maintained, and, as a floor and wall system, ‘is a proven solution for food preparation areas, commercial kitchens, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities’ ComfortFloor’s chemical composition and texture absorb impact, affording excellent acoustic insulation.
Four systems are available – ComfortFloor, ComfortFloor Pro, ComfortFloor Decorative, and ComfortFloor Decorative Pro – giving the flexibility to meet a variety of requirements – including comfort, design, and cost. Sika has recently added a new high performance base to the ComfortFloor Decorative range – ComfortFloor 3000.
The company recently supplied the ComfortFloor Pro system as part of the refurbishment of the Ward 10 High Dependency Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital – as an alternative to the existing vinyl floor, which ‘required constant maintenance’. It said: “ComfortFloor Pro resin flooring met the client’s aesthetic and acoustic requirements, while being an extremely hard-wearing, non-slip system that guarantees outstanding long-term performance.”
