A specialist company that offers independent Authorising Engineer services, primarily for electrical systems, but can also provide guidance on compliance in areas including lifts, water, ventilation, fire, and pressure systems, has been launched.
Health Engineering Services FM (‘HESfm’: enquiries@hesfm.uk) has been established by IHEEM Council member and chair of the Institute’s Electrical Technical Platform, Mark Richards, a Chartered Electrical Engineer, Authorising Engineer, and CDM professional with over 30 years’ experience as an electrical design engineer, technical author, and CDM advisor/principal designer, in both construction and engineering services.
Services offered include:
- Establishing and maintaining company policies and procedures in respect of safe systems of work.
- Provision of technical and engineering support to help clients meet their obligations under current legislation.
- Management and delivery of compliance auditing and monitoring associated with the HTMs, and management auditing and monitoring of FM providers on clients’ behalf.
- Compliance audits on critical safe systems of work.
- Helping clients identify improvement potential within the operation and management of site infrastructure.
- Design of building services installations and subsequent contract management.
- Supporting technical services, incident investigation, discrimination studies, condition surveys, partial discharge surveys, earth testing, commissioning services, and witness testing of electrical switchgear.
- Provision of CDM advice to clients/acting as principal designer under CDM 2015.
