It has just been announced by the Department of Health that the NHS will be recruiting 100,000 apprentices during the next five years - of which it is hoped a reasonable number will be recruits to estates and facilities teams. It is vitally important to ensure that a suitably focused and coherent training and development programme is put in place to support them.
