Double assurance from Disano

A new emergency lighting and control system with integrated fail-safe back-up has been launched by Italian lighting manufacturer Disano Illuminazione.

The new system, which allows regular emergency luminaire testing to be initiated by maintenance staff, also features an auto self-test module for peace of mind. The system aids on-site compliance with the regular testing requirements of BS5266 Part 1.

The Disano system comprises a main control unit, which can manage up to a maximum of 200 emergency lighting units. Both online checks and user-programmable testing can be performed as required. For example, each individual light fitting can be tested for a few minutes (daily), or a full battery charge test with complete discharge cycle can be scheduled (monthly). Status is shown on an LCD display and the system can be interfaced with a printer to produce functionality reports.

The auto self-test module is equipped with a sophisticated microprocessor allowing it to automatically and independently make diversified checks for lighting system functionality (weekly) and battery run time (every 12 weeks), providing extra assurance should the regular lights go out.
