Austco describes its Tacera product as ‘an integrated IP-based critical communication system that delivers safety solutions for patients’.
The company said: “By linking nurses and patients in real-time, Tacera improves access, and enhances the quality of information available to nurses and caregivers, enabling them to provide immediate assistance, and ensuring measurable improvements to quality of care.”
Tacera is ‘a fully mobile solution’, which allows management and transmission of information to be accessed remotely. This is achieved ‘by turning wireless phones or tablets into fully powered nurse stations, releasing nurses from their desks, and allowing greater staff mobility’.
“Extensive workflow and escalation processes ensure patient calls are connected directly to nurses’ wireless devices,” the company explained. “If the nurse cannot respond, the call is automatically escalated and assigned to the next nurse.”
While ‘conventional’ nurse call systems ‘react to events’, Austco says Tacera ‘sets new standards by providing the tools to analyse, anticipate, alert, and act’. It added: “Tacera enables full clinical workflow management for nurse call, allowing healthcare professionals to work better, faster, and smarter.”
