Reliance Water Controls says that ‘while thermostatic taps are a fundamental requirement’ to ensure safe hot water temperatures at point of use in hospitals and care homes, it is equally important to ensure stringent hygiene and infection control standards can easily be met.
The company said: “Our Caremix taps are TMV3-approved to provide reliable water temperature safety and reduced scalding potential, but their clever design features also help ensure that hygiene and infection control procedures are easily followed.”
The range uses a one-piece ‘Aegle’ thermostatic cartridge, and a separate single-piece internal brass housing unit incorporating the non-return valve, cylindrical strainer, and flow regulator. Both can be accessed easily with an Allen key from in front of the wall, to allow quick and easy cleaning or repairs, while following isolation, the entire tap can be removed simply and a spare installed.
RWC added: “Disinfection flushing can easily be undertaken with the tap in situ using a detachable flushing hose to bypass the thermostatic cartridge and wash the internal cavities with high temperature water.”
Caremix taps also have a Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating to resist scratching and deterioration of the chrome finish.
