Architectural practice, DKS Architects, which has moved into new purpose-built accommodation at Stokesley Business Park, has secured its third major scheme outside the region with healthcare developer Montpelier Estates.
The latest project to be awarded is for a £12m residential health care scheme in Widnes. The brand new care facilities comprising 77 bedrooms with associated ancillary areas are due for completion in May 2007. DKS is acting as lead consultant, co-ordinating the other disciplines involved in the scheme with project management and QS services provided by John Marzec Associates.
DKS partner, Dave Knudsen, has worked on all three projects and has plans to extend the DKS healthcare portfolio still further in the future.
He said: “We have been able to gradually shape our expertise in healthcare work over the past few years with a mixture of schemes undertaken for both private developers and NHS Trusts.
This experience has provided the team with real insight into efficient and successful healthcare design, which means we are well placed to pick up further similar projects when opportunities present themselves in the future.”
