UK-based Static Systems Group, together with Vidac and Accsys PTY, based in Gaborone, Botswana, has completed shipment in a programme to supply nurse call communication systems and bedhead services trunking for over 1,500 beds in five hospitals in Botswana.
Hospitals throughout Botswana are included in the contracts due to be fully commissioned by the end of 2007.
The installations include hospitals in Ghanzi, Sekgoma, Mahalapye, Scottish Livingstone and Maun Hospital. Vidac and Static Systems began their partnership over five years ago when the projects were first discussed. During initial meetings Static Systems, Vidac and the client teams in Botswana discussed the need to provide healthcare communication and bedhead services trunking solutions to meet relevant standards and local requirements. A programme of product demonstrations and seminars, given by Static Systems and supported by Vidac, was delivered to project teams and end users to demonstrate the suitability of equipment and associated support services.
Commenting on the Botswana contract Static Systems’ managing director, Adrian Turner said: “We are delighted to have been awarded these contracts and to be able to work with Vidac to achieve high standards of communication and bedside services within Botswana’s hospitals.”
For Vidac and Accsys PTY, managing director, Nick Bayes said: “It was also important in our partnership with Static Systems to engage local organisations for final assembly, installation and commissioning of the products to enable this bold initiative to succeed.”
