Schneider Electric continues to develop its range of SMART, connected electrical distribution equipment with its new Masterpact MTZ Air Circuit breaker (ACB).
The company said: “As hospitals are becoming increasingly dependent upon technology to support their clinical activities and day-to-day operations, the availability of clean, reliable electrical supplies is more important than ever.”
The Masterpact MTZ is a ‘next generation’ air circuit breaker designed to support critical power installations, ‘providing maximum uptime for low voltage distribution systems’.
Schneider Electric said: “Reliability is improved even in harsh environments, via enhanced mechanical and electrical performance, but the real advances are the new intelligent features that allow remote connectivity via smartphone notification.
Local connectivity is available through the Masterpact MTZ app for secure wireless diagnostics and maintenance (Bluetooth and NFC connection). This flexible connectivity ensures seamless integration with building and energy management systems, and allows upgrades and changes to be made effortlessly, without interrupting supply, with downloadable digital modules for advanced functions.”
Chris Needham, Healthcare Solutions lead, added: “Being able to present the right information to the right person at the right time is vitally important in a hospital environment, especially for critical systems. It allows estates personnel to understand exactly what is happening within the network in real time, allowing them to plan more effectively, diagnose faults quickly, and be proactive, as opposed to reactive, and prevent outages.”
