Powerscout, launched at last month’s Healthcare Estates 2016 event, is a webbased software monitoring tool designed to analyse and report on the ‘health and condition’ of electrical installations, and – via permanent monitoring, to give ‘an immediate real-time picture of the entire data for single or multiple site locations’.
Bender added: “The data is available remotely, enables proactive maintenance, and helps eliminate issues such as unplanned shutdowns.”
Powerscout integrates the data from Bender and third-party devices, ‘generating clear and detailed visualisations’, and allowing comparison of the power system performance of different buildings or site locations, with all measured values automatically and continuously saved. Information on system residual currents and power quality forms the basis for verifying the integrity of the system without switch-off, and is designed to fulfil the requirements of IEC 60364-6 as regards periodic verification.
“The comprehensive, continuously updated monitoring tool provides trend curves and a quick and simple route to identifying the causes of malfunctions,” Bender explained. “Fault currents and gradually developing insulation faults can be detected in time to allow proactive maintenance.”
