Lancer increases endoscope reprocessor courses

The one-day course for operators of Lancer automated endoscope reprocessors was so successful in its first year that for 2007 Lancer’s training division has tripled the number of course dates available.

For clients’ convenience it will now also be offered at Lancer’s northern facilities at Runcorn as well as at the Cambridge HQ. Going beyond the original product training, its aim is to ensure learners are able to operate the AER with confidence, understand all aspects of the process and continue to develop skills when returning to the workplace.

Course leader Helen Ashwell, a nurse and endoscopy professional, attributes the success of the course to its value for money. Positive feedback has highlighted increased personnel confidence, more efficient decontamination procedures and savings in reduced call outs or downtime.

Delegates find they can fit attending a one-day course into busy hospital schedules.

The Lancer Academy will also run a greater number of its two and a half day City & Guilds accredited course for designated users in endoscope decontamination (for any make of AER). Because it has been so popular, it has been possible to reduce the attendance price.
