Medical engineering company, Avensys UK, is launching a new combined maintenance and training service ‘for all brands, models, and ages, of endoscope’.
It believes it will be able to provide maintenance and repair contracts, incorporating user training, at around a 40% lower cost than many NHS Trusts are currently paying. Full auditing of existing instruments, and advice on the quality of current ‘scopes’, will be part of the package.
Avensys UK was set up 10 years ago by ex-MoD Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Rob Strange and Steve Holt, with the objective of bringing the benefits of the military’s approach to medical equipment repair, maintenance, and training, to the NHS and private sector. The company now trains hundreds of NHS medical engineers every year, as well as looking after the maintenance of all types of medical devices in hospitals and the community.
After building experience of maintaining and repairing medical devices, including endoscopes, and seeing the impact that training can have on the frequency of faults, Avensys is launching a new combined maintenance and training service for all brands, models, and age, of endoscope, which it says will significantly reduce costs, while maintaining high standards of repair.
