Mailbox has completed the supply and installation of HTM 71 high density materials management systems at the new children’s hospital and adult head and neck centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
Carillion Services Ltd, trading as Carillion Health, is also the lead provider for the majority of the services within the new facilities.
The new children’s hospital will condense the existing services within Oxford into one purpose-built children’s hospital, providing a comprehensive range of paediatric services. Existing services have relocated.
The adults head and neck centre (West Wing) includes neurosciences, specialist surgery (plastic and craniofacial), ENT and the Oxford Eye Hospital.
Working with Carillion on a subcontract basis, more than 40 areas were designed and installed to agreed timescales and specifications, including base, wall and full height cabinets (incorporating polycarbonate trays and dividers), worktops, endoscope and catheter cabinets and all associated equipment. Darren Hamilton, Mailbox installation manager, said: “Whilst we strive for ‘snag free installations’, we unfortunately missed our zero target (by one), however next time we will not forget the missing screw cap!”
