Bosch adds to DECT6000 series

Bosch Security Systems has expanded its DECT6000 messaging and telephony system with the new DECT6000 IP that combines all the advantages of IP functionality with secure messaging, high sound quality and proven DECT technology.

The new DECT6000 IP allows a wireless messaging and telephone system to be implemented over an organisation’s existing data network. This significantly lowers installation costs by eliminating the need for dedicated cabling between base stations and the DECT server. All that is necessary is to install the DECT base stations at the various sites and connect them to the data network. With capacity for up to 6,000 handsets and 255 base stations, the system will be of particularly interest to large and multisite organisations. In addition, internal calls are free of charge, even between remote locations.

Two base station choices are available: a six-channel version for areas with medium to high traffic density, and a 12-channel version for hot spots. The two types of base station can also be mixed and matched. The use of external directional antennas provides a high degree of freedom in positioning base stations, which is particularly advantageous in locations where coverage would otherwise be difficult or even impossible. Power over Ethernet (PoE) eliminates the need for local mains adapters, saving even further on costs.

The system also features remote maintenance that is executed on-site via IP, with the DECT server showing the status of all base stations at a glance. The DECT6000 IP provides secure messaging and automatic message forwarding when a person is absent. When it is necessary to contact a group of people simultaneously, group calls can be completed within seconds. A Message Server receives automatic confirmation when a message has been received and for extra confirmation, a manual acknowledgement can be requested, ensuring that no message goes unanswered or is lost.
