Having provided the Cambridge University Hospitals Trust with successful materials management and handling solutions for many years, Medstor was ‘ideally placed’ to design and deliver an effective, bespoke system to help the main theatre department at Addenbrooke’s Hospital improve storage and stock control in its 23 theatres.
The hospital specified a selection of Medstor’s mobile storage cabinets, work surfaces, wall shelving, and base cabinets, all ‘combining exceptional functionality with a stylish, modern design’. Medstor cabinets feature a customisable, ‘unique’ tray and liner system. Addenbrooke’s chose the Dual Bin design, a stock control system whereby useable stock is stored at the tray’s front, and an emergency stock at the rear. Once the usable stock has been depleted, the emergency stock is brought forward (or the tray turned around) for use while new stock is reordered, supplied, and restocked.
