Static Systems’ in-house technical teams have developed a range of ‘cost-effective retrofit products’, ‘FusionWare Tools’ – for use with the company’s wired and wireless IP-based nurse call systems – which focus on delivering improvements in three key areas – patient experience, patient safety, and staff workflow.
Marketing manager, Jennifer Terry, said: “A hospital’s nurse call infrastructure is generally underutilised. Bed positions, along with other areas, each report to an indicator at the staff base, which in turn can be connected to the site-wide LAN. By adding FusionWare Tools to installed equipment, we can provide functionality such as bed exit alert, automatic activation of room/bed lighting, thirdparty equipment monitoring, and catering call, and integrate ‘smart’ devices, with minimal disruption.
“Many of our FusionWare Tools are of particular benefit in single-bedded rooms, and adding functionality in this way means patients and staff continue to use equipment they are familiar with. Core nurse call functionality such as ‘followthe-light’ can be programmed to work with these additional features.”
