Brian James, chief executive of Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, is the latest senior NHS executive to join the speaker panel at the HEFMA 2007 Annual Conference & Exhibition, taking place 23-24 May at the Hilton Blackpool hotel.
Brian James will be familiar to many from his recent appearance alongside Gerry Robinson in the BBC series “Can Gerry Robinson Fix the NHS?” televised this January. He has worked in the NHS for nearly 30 years, during which time he has been involved in most areas of NHS management. Previously director of Health Service Strategy & Innovation for South Yorkshire Strategic Health Authority, he took up the chief executive’s role at Rotherham in February 2005.
He will appear alongside David Peat, chief executive of East Lancashire NHS Trust, in an Executive Q&A panel looking at the changing face of healthcare commissioning and the impact for estates and FM services. The panel takes place on the morning of Thursday 24 May, following a charity gala dinner on the previous evening, where the winners of the Inaugural HEFMA FM National Awards will be announced. The exhibition running alongside the conference is now sold out, with nearly 60 companies taking the opportunity to showcase their FM services and products. Exhibitors and sponsors at HEFMA 2007 include major multiservice providers such as ISS Mediclean and Sodexho Healthcare Services, along with many specialist suppliers of catering, cleaning, construction and IT services, among others.
