Flexibility from theatre light

Dräger’s Polaris 600 operating theatre light has been designed in line with the company’s Polaris 100/200 light heads, offering continuity aesthetically, while allowing the light ranges to be interchangeable, a first for Dräger.

The company said: “Full flexibility of this crossover allows us to create solutions flexible enough to meet any budget demands without compromising our customers’ lighting requirements. The Polaris 600 utilises the slimmer light head design of our 100/200 range, but offers many additional features.”

These include

  • Sterile touch control: The central handle has touch control, making adjustments to both the intensity of light and light field diameter ‘effortless’.
  • Synchronisation – in ‘synchronisation mode’ both intensity and colour temperature are mirrored in all connected light heads, meaning just one adjustment is needed.
  • An updated HD camera: now concealed behind the light glass, the new wireless HD camera gives a single, smooth surface for cleaning, with the integrated design eliminating the need for sterilisation. Dräger said: “This obviates the need for duplication of parts, and no removable parts means no risk of loss or damage to items that could compromise a theatre’s capability.”
