Tridonic’s new ‘out of the box’ emergency lighting solution ‘combines advanced battery technology with the latest emergency lighting components’.
The EM ready2apply is Tridonic’s first ever standalone emergency luminaire. Global product manager, Emergency Lighting, Chris Slattery, explained: “Our aim was to design a compact, easy-toinstall product to fit into an everdiminishing ceiling void through a minimal cut-out, encompassing sufficient power, exceeding all lifetime and safety requirements, and with the option of installation with interchangeable lenses. We wanted to progress from the traditional design of a hinged inverter or a battery in a protective sock to a more aesthetic, user-friendly product.”
After extensive research and testing, Tridonic settled on a LiFePO4 battery. “Next,” Chris Slattery explained, “we set about combining an LED driver, battery charging circuit, DALI interface, and monitoring circuit, inside a 75 mm x 35 mm x 25 mm space. We then added two cut-outs on the PCB for the springs that keep the luminaire in the ceiling, using clever engineering and a flexi-rigid PCB.”
