The latest addition to Static Systems’ Design & Innovation Centre at its Staffordshire headquarters is a ‘pioneering’ new Concept Ward, developed with the help, support, and input, of suppliers of a wide range of different products and technologies.
Static Systems has recently unveiled the latest addition to the ‘industry-renowned’ Design & Innovation Centre at its Wombourne headquarters in Staffordshire. The leading IP nurse call, bedhead trunking, and fire alarm system supplier to the healthcare sector says it has developed and launched the new ‘pioneering’ Concept Ward ‘to foster greater industry collaboration in ward design and showcase future healthcare innovation’. HEJ’s editor, Jonathan Baillie, discusses the Concept Ward’s development, and the thinking behind it, with the company’s marketing director, Phil Wade.
JB: “It has clearly been a busy few months at Static Systems, Phil. How long has your new Concept Ward been in the planning?”
PW: “Work started on the plans for the new single-bed Concept Ward around nine months ago. We’d always intended for our Design & Innovation Centre to extend beyond the four-bed bay repeatable room design, which is very much about demonstrating features that are readily available now. The new Concept Ward is a natural progression in that it takes ward design to the next level, is visionary, and aims to demonstrate future healthcare technology and innovation. Our aim is to stimulate debate and discussion among suppliers and providers.
“As a technology-led company, we’re always looking to develop new ideas, and we wanted to introduce something that was forward-thinking and would also complement the original four-bed ward at our Wombourne HQ, which will continue to play an important role in ward design and function.
