Those attending Eastwood Park’s medical gas training are ‘reaping the benefits of the intensely practical nature of the courses delivered at the centre, returning to the work environment and delivering real savings on routine maintenance work’, the training establishment maintains.
The Competent Persons MGPS training delivers installation, commissioning, and engineering tests in line with HTM 02, but Michael Ell, Eastwood Park’s MGPS portfolio manager (pictured), emphasises the benefits of the hands-on training: “We are hearing frequently of the savings being made in hospitals by those who have returned from our training – for example, changing a tail pipe on a manifold, repairing terminal units, and small adjustments. This is because they have been shown how to do so in a safe environment – and, more importantly – have had the opportunity to practice these and similar procedures on our equipment as part of our Competent Persons MGPS courses. So, when we talk about having real confidence to do the job, this is just what we mean. When they leave the classroom and return to the day-to-day pressures of their work environment, they do so with the ability and confidence to apply what they have learned.”
Eastwood Park’s Competent Persons MGPS training and refresher courses will be delivered regularly throughout 2018 at the Gloucestershire training centre.
