MGPS Services says it is ‘pleased to welcome aboard’ Simon Colley, who, as an estates officer previously at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, was Authorised Person for MGPS, HVAC, LV, and Lifts, and Responsible Person for Water.
The company said: “Simon Colley’s multi-skill talents reflect his extensive technical background, first with the Royal Signals, then with Tarmac/ARC, next in the refrigeration industry and, penultimately, with Midland Medical Services – where he worked for 13 years as a medical gas maintenance engineer, supporting medical and dental gas system projects both in UK hospitals, and with the British and Norwegian military in Iraq, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Chad. He will share the increasing workload of MGPS Services’ well known and highly respected complement of medical gas-related training and consultancy.”
Last month (see adjacent story) saw the release of Safety Alert NHS/PSA/W/ 2018/001, which addresses ‘the 400 plus incidents’ involving incorrect use of oxygen cylinder controls reported over a three-year period. MGPS Services says it has always promoted the benefits of hands-on equipment training, and is ‘pleased to see this philosophy embodied within the Alert’. It added: “We welcome enquiries from nursing professionals wishing to establish bespoke training in the correct use of oxygen cylinders.”
